Happy Easter!

Our friends at Arbor Oaks brought a special visitor to see the kids on Thursday. They enjoyed seeing the Easter Bunny and having their picture made. Thanks Arbor Oaks!

We hope to see a sea of blue on Tuesday!

We will be closed Friday, March 29. See you Monday!

Remember that bank deposit day is tomorrow (Wednesday) at MES!

We will be closed Friday, March 29, for Good Friday.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Have a great Spring Break!

8 of our third and fourth grade EAST students represented MES at the EAST Conference at the Hot Springs Convention Center.
They presented all the amazing projects we have been working on this year, learned about projects other schools are doing, experienced new technology and met new friends. Harper Crowder was awarded a difference maker award for her excitement and presentation of our projects. She also won a mini drone in the Tinkerspace Scavenger Hunt.
We love collaborating with our school and community to make Malvern a better place to live.

Our First grade Little Leopards completed their CKLA unit on Habitats and created this display to show their learning. They learned about the climates of habitats, plant life, and the animals that lived in each. They tied math standards to the unit by graphing their favorite habitat they learned about and writing an opinion piece on their favorite habitat and why. #TheresNoPlaceLikeMES #ExpecttheBestatMES

Spring Break is coming up!

Here is another Reading tip as you enjoy "Judy Moody" with your child!
Stay engaged with your child throughout the reading time- stop from time to time to explain an unfamiliar vocabulary word, discuss an important point, or ask your child to make predictions. You don't want to derail too much, but you do want to make the reading time together interactive!

Remember that bank deposit day is tomorrow (Wednesday) at MES!

We hope you are enjoying reading "Judy Moody" with your child.
Expect some fidgeting - Listening during reading time does not have to be a stationary activity. Some listeners will sit as stones with eyes and ears fixed on you. Other listeners stay more engaged with something in their hands like a small toy, crayons, or a stuffed animal. Some children might listen better if allowed to walk around the room or bounce on the bed a bit. Work together to find the way that works best for your child!

We are selling popcorn at MES to raise money for personal books for students to keep and take home.
The classroom in each grade level that sells the most bags will win a popcorn party! Find your favorite Little Leopard and buy some popcorn today.
